We gathered with family to celebrate Shelly’s 70^th birthday and the 45^th wedding anniversary for Shelly and Garry. It was wonderful to see so many people come and take part in this joyous event. The facility at the Park Allan Community Center in Edmonton provided a superb location for the celebration. Endless food and drink had been prepared with loving hands to enable the time-honored tradition of gathering and eating. A fantastic day with white fluffy clouds, gorgeous sunlight, a playground and spray park for the kids all conspired to deliver a perfect setting for the event. A short program, with Doug Leighton as the accomplished MC, a few speeches, a fantastic poem by Shelly the birthday girl, and a cutting of the cake provided a central focus for the event.
