Saturna Day 2

Our day started with a lovely breakfast at the Saturna Lodge preparing us for a grueling morning of car travel instead of our simple push your bike up the 1 km. hill travel. Lori, our B&B host had offered to drive us along with another guest around the Island to survey which areas we might like to explore by bicycle later.  This turned out to be an excellent choice as Lori was a fabulous tour guide, peppering our journey with stories featuring Saturna Island characters (no shortage of these), local history and showing us places we would never have seen on our own.

This evening we are going to order some fries and broccoli from the local pub and take it to a pot-luck supper and speech by Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party right here at the Community Hall on Saturna.  I’ll see if I can get a picture with Cathy and Elizabeth for another blog.
