Carrying a camera with a large lens can lead to delightful encounters.  While walking through campus on my way to the Meewasin with my large telephoto I was stopped by a man and his friend.  I think he assumed from my camera that I was taking pictures for publication. The fellow was most interested in having a picture taken and wondered if he would be in the newspaper.  I told him it was highly unlikely but I could put him on a blog.  He pulled his slightly reluctant friend beside and gave me a big smile.  The whole encounter took place in under 30 seconds but left a lasting smile on my face and maybe on the couple as well.
