Olive’s rant at Sum Theatre

A few weeks ago my granddaughter, Olive, read me a spoken word poem that she had written as part of a school project. My immediate thought was ” Wow, Olive, this should a rant at “The Last Sunday”. I really felt like I was channelling Cathy as she would have had the same idea. Sum Theatre is a Saskatoon group producing innovative theatrical productions including “The Last Sunday”. Each month they have artists respond to what has happened in the last month with four components (A musical group, a rant, a play written in the last month, and a ‘hot seat’ interview). I emailed Sum Theatre and soon their production crew contacted Olive and it was agreed that she would be the ranter for April 25. Since Covid the event has been live and broadcast via YouTube. It was on last night at the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon with only the cast and crew in the audience. For those that did not see it or those that would like to see it again I have included a link below. If you just want to review Olive’s piece it occurs at 23 min. in.
