An Ode to River Ice

Lapping, splashing, freezing, thawing
River water flows on a quest to become magnificent.
Let me be your Monk’s hat oh River Rock
Let me adorn your feet with spicules to shatter under the clumsy sole of your winter boot
Let me gather molecule by molecule and build a castle
Let me beautify your demeanor oh meager spike of grass
Let me dust your crown with my snow cousin clumps
Let me cover your naked form with an icy crown and dangling jewels
Let me fill you with joy as you gaze upon my icy wonder.

Oh Trent- Images and poetry are stunning! You wear hat on top of hat—artist, poet, photographer, baker, repairer, teacher, helper and the list goes on! And on! And such a nice guy on top of all those amazing traits. Thanks so much. Beautiful.
